What should I bring on a charter?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, non-marking shoes, snacks, drinks, and a cooler for your catch. For dive charters, please bring your own dive suit, fins, mask, gloves, spear gun, towels, and a change of clothes.
How many people can fit on the boat?
Our Boston Whaler for harbor tours comfortably accommodates up to 13 passengers. Our Defiance Admiral 220 for fishing charters seats up to 6 passengers comfortably.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions are unsafe, we will reschedule your trip at no additional charge. We monitor conditions closely and will contact you in advance if a cancellation is necessary.
Where do charters depart from?
Harbor tours depart from Staten Island, NY. Fishing and dive charters depart from Bayview Harbor or Light House Marina in Barnegat Light, NJ; Atlantis Marina in Staten Island, NY; or the Shark River in Belmar, NJ, depending on the trip. Contact us to confirm the departure point for your charter.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. Our charter covers all necessary permits and licenses for fishing. You just need to show up and enjoy the trip.
Is tipping expected?
Tips for the mates are customary and appreciated. A tip of 15–20% of the total trip cost is standard in the charter fishing industry.
Can I book a private charter?
Absolutely. All of our harbor tours and fishing charters can be booked as private experiences for your group. Contact us directly to arrange a private trip.
What types of fish can I catch?
Depending on the season and charter type, you can target Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi, Fluke, False Albacore, Bonito, and more. Check our Rates page for details by charter type.
