Fishing Charters

Plan a fun weekend of relaxation and recreation with inshore fishing tours from SouthStar Charters. Our 2017 Defiance 220 Admiral is a smaller pilothouse boat at 27.6' while comfortably seating a party of up to six people. Its pilothouse design is climate-controlled and sheltered from the elements, keeping you comfortable during your trip at any time of the year.

Our boat's small profile makes it possible to reach areas of the inlets and rivers. Our inshore boat is available for both public and private charter, with a variety of options, including shallow water fishing expeditions in the:

Heated for Late Winter Fishing

Stay comfortable in the late winter and early spring. Our inshore charter boat is fully heated for your comfort and convenience.

Live Wells and Coolers

The Tristar is fully equipped with coolers, fish boxes, and live wells to keep your catches and bait fresh throughout your trip, whether you are gone for a half-day or a full day.

Diving Charters

At SouthStar Charters, our inshore boat is available for both public and private charter for various fun trip options, including shallow water fishing expeditions and spearfishing around the coastal bay areas. We access some remote areas of the Manasquan River and Shark River that always prove successful.

We provide a safe means to free dive with our 22-foot 2017 Defiance Admiral, equipped with:

  • Built-In Coolers

  • Heated and Ventilated Pilot House

  • Ample Seating Accommodations (Up to Seven Passengers), Inside and Out

  • All Dive Safety Equipment and Flags

  • Electrical Outlets for Charging

  • Storage Area for Your Catch During Trip

*Please note that we do not supply personal float flags, clips, ropes, or floats.

Gears That We Do Not Supply

The following gears are not supplied by SouthStar Charters and are the responsibility of the customer:

  • Dive Suits

  • Skin Suits

  • Swimming Fins

  • Masks

  • Gloves

  • Spear Guns

*Please bring towels, snacks, drinks, and a change of clothes.

Schedule and Fees

Please read our schedule and fees for policy and previsions. Time and dates will vary due to tidal changes, water temperature, and water viability.

  • Trips are $100.00 per person.

  • Tipping the captain is encouraged, but not mandatory!

  • The cost includes travel to the location, an on-site professional guide, videos, and photographs of your experience.

  • Most trips run 3 hours with an average of 1.5 hours to 2 hours of free dive time.

  • The boat seats four spearfishermen comfortably but can accommodate six.

  • All charters depart from Belmar Shark River, New Jersey.
